Welcome to the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Dashboard
What?
The Armed Conflict Location and Event Data (ACLED) is a publicly available dataset designed for disaggregated conflict analysis and crisis mapping. Based on real-time data, this dashboard allows users to explore conflicts of the last two weeks per country. It reports the number and type of events, the number of fatalities as well as general information for each event.
Why?
Monitoring local events of political violence can help anticipate the escalation of conflicts within states, by identifying early signs of crisis development and determining possible conflict trajectories.
How?
ACLED collects real-time data on the locations, dates, actors, fatalities, and types of all reported political violence and protest events across Africa and other parts of the world. ACLED data are derived from a wide range of local, regional, and national sources and the information is collected by trained data experts worldwide. Dashboard designed by Amy Wootton - Esri South Africa. More information at https://acleddata.com/
