IPC Mapping Tool
Welcome to the IPC Mapping Tool
What?
The IPC Mapping Tool is an enhanced interactive interface that shows a map of all the countries the IPC works in and allows you to download population data. Download the user guide.
Why?
In its continued endeavor to make food insecurity and malnutrition data as “open” as possible, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has launched a tool that will help users visualise, customise and download maps and data. The IPC Mapping Tool is a new online interactive platform that provides public access to IPC mapping data for 35 countries. All information is freely available online at www.ipcinfo.org, featuring the latest food security data hosted in an open databank. Anyone can access the data and use it for their own analysis and decisions needs.
How?
How it works
Each country is colour-coded by its latest IPC classification for both Acute Food Insecurity (AFI) and Chronic Food Insecurity (CFI) scales. Use the menu at the top of the Mapping Tool to set your search terms by Phase or Level, as well as by year. Then, hover your mouse over the country you are seeking data for, click and you will be taken directly to the analysis page complete with maps and population tables for both the current and projected periods. The most exciting feature of this new tool? You can customize the maps! Click on the arrow found on the left-hand side of the page. There you can change the size of your map and adjust the labels, including: country labels, analysis labels and settlement labels. Once you have the map you want, the IPC Mapping Tool allows you to download maps in the following formats:
